How to Style Dream Duos Upcycle Pieces
Dream Duos crochet upcycle pieces are some of my favorite projects to make, &I just love seeing all the positive responses to my fun experimental creations. I receive many questions when it comes to how to style these pieces because they can appear very bold, but it’s truly it’s not all that difficult. It’s really all in how you approach it, that’s what makes Upcycle styling entirely doable.
The first thing you should do, is center your entire outfit around the upcycle piece. Usually, they’re statement pieces so it’s easier beginning with those so that everything else is complementary & you’re not trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. The next aspect is that I consider is the colors & what would look the best with them. Sometimes, it’s monochromatic or tonal, or I choose a contrasting color- so that it really stands out. It all depends on my mood!
A simple solution is to wear the same pattern on the top and the bottom. For the Denim Maxi Crochet Skirt I made, I paired it with a long-sleeved sweater that made the whole outfit flow so easily. It takes all the stress of worrying if the pieces match when it’s the same pattern. No muss no fuss! I wore white boots with this look, but black would also look really good for contrast.
The Crochet Bell Bottoms are such a bold look and oh so colorful. ( I love that!) For this, you can lean into the era & go with a simple vintage tee. It doesn't have to be any more complicated than that if you don't want it to be. The bottoms do so much, that doing less is doing more. If you are feeling bolder, you can always add a fringe vest for added effect.
The simplest solution is to wear an upcycled dress. It does all the work for you. You can just throw it on and go if you want. This denim crochet dress that is truly perfect for the Spring/Summer &stylish yet casual. I like to throw on tons of bracelets &necklaces, plus a pair of understated flats can really help the look go a long way!
