How to Wear Crochet in the Fall

The Fall is the perfect time to wear your favorite crochet pieces. During this season, layering and heavier garments are in and it opens up so many outfit possibilities. I love accessorizing and adding impactful touches to what I’m wearing because it gives it that extra detail that makes the whole thing come together. More combinations means more ways to style and that’s always a good thing!

One of the most obvious (and no less important) uses of crochet in the Fall is crochet accessories. Hats, scarves, gloves, all of the usual suspects, but it’s all about how you wear them. If you enjoy wearing beanies, try a slouchy beanie for a slightly different look, or even experiment with a crochet beret. The same idea can be applied to scarves. If you tend to lean towards the standard scarf, try a more dramatic one that’s longer and fuller. Gloves are great for adding a pop of color when your outfit is darker or more neutral.

Dream Duos upcycled garments are a great way to incorporate crochet into your style. It offers you the best of both worlds and it works in so many different ways. I really like wearing skirts in the Fall and I made an open crochet skirt using canvas jogger pants. Another option is shorter skirts, and the denim waistband crochet skirt would look quite perfect with a pair of tights and boots.

Crochet sweaters are another no-brainer, but once again, you’ve got so many options to explore. Fall isn’t always very cold, so you might want to try cropped sweaters so you’re not overheating. Layer this with a matching tee or tank and it makes for a casual and cool look. On the other side of this, you can also go bigger. An oversized sweater can be highly fashionable and comfortable as the weather starts to get colder. It makes me think of hot chocolate and s’mores by the fireplace.

I love layering, it’s one of my favorite things about Fall. Cardigans are a must-have in my opinion, and there’s such a wide variety of crochet cardigans to choose from. If it’s warmer, I’ll wear a cropped short-sleeved cardigan or a shrug, but if it’s cooler, I’ll wear a duster that can really elevate the outfit. It’s fun to experiment with necklines too. You can choose between a round-neck or v-neck depending on your preference and both look good with so many different kinds of tops.
