Top 5 Winter 2023 Fashion Trends

Winter is the perfect time to include crocheted clothes into your wardrobe. Not only are they fashionable, but they can keep you warm and neither has to be sacrificed for the other. It would be all too easy to fall into old patterns and stick with basic sweaters when this season comes around, but every season I try to incorporate new ideas to keep things fresh. Whether it’s experimenting with colors or wearing new items, crocheted clothes offer an endless path of possibilities.

These are the top 5 Winter 2023 handmade fashion trends.

Bold Red Colors

Just because the weather’s gotten colder, doesn’t mean that our wardrobe has to be grim and drab. Inject some color into your wardrobe with bright red color that will stand out in the best way possible. You’d be surprised by how much more fun it is to realize that you don’t have to limit yourself in the Winter, and this reminds us that rules are meant to be bent. If you don’t want to over it with the red, use red in more subtle ways like a belt or accessorize with a beanie.

Statement Cardigans

Winter's the time to make a statement with cardigans, and I've been really into faux fur and faux feather pieces which liven things up. Jackets and trench coats all look better and more individualized with striking elements that elevate them beyond the mundane. And the best part is that the faux fur and the faux feather will keep you even warmer. One of my favorite pieces is The Syrax Crochet Cardigan I've made that's the perfect piece for innovative styling.

Creative Denim Looks

Denim is still in for the Winter, but it’s time to get more creative with it. There’s nothing wrong with rocking simple dark denim pants, but with Dream Duos Denim items to take my outfit to interesting places. For example, wearing a top with denim pockets or a maxi skirt with a denim waistband. It's a subtle yet very impactful way to wear denim and show that it doesn't have to be so safe.

Business Aesthetics

Business aesthetics are serious business and I love them for the Winter time. Vests and sleeveless tops are great for layering blouses that can either make the outfit classy or casual depending on which colors and patterns you use. And if you want to take the dressiness up a notch, wear a tie for that chic office look.

Wide-Leg Pants

Few things in life are as comfortable as wide-leg pants, and the best part is that they’re also comfortable. Baggy pants have made their fated return, and I’m very much into granny square crocheted pants. They’re bold and have so much personality. Sometimes I feel like toning it down with a simple op so the pants can be the star of the show, but other times, I’ll go full force into the theme and wear a matching granny square top.
