Top 5 Best Fashion TV Shows and Movies
Few things are better than a good story that moves you, & when you add some unforgettable fashion moments, it gets even better. When I watch a TV show or movie, I try to pay attention to everything, the characters, the music, and the aesthetics. It's all part of what makes a story so good, and when the characters have a great fashion sense, it gets even better!
These are my top 5 best fashion in TV shows and movies.
Pose
Pose is a beautiful story that transports viewers to the 1980s and the looks are gorgeous homages to the era and its icons. The characters pull at your heartstrings with a heartbreaking story, & there's so much beauty & the ballroom scenes always dazzle. I'd always look forward to the themes the characters would have to present and the over-the-top creations are utter works of art. Pose does it all & looks good while doing it.
The Devil Wars Prada
The Devil Wears Prada is such a rewatchable movie. It's about an up-and-coming journalist who gets a job working for the editor-in-chief of a major fashion publication, and it's filled with many memorable moments. Watching Anne Hathaway's Andy transform from someone who doesn't try to look good into someone who puts in the effort is gratifying & I truly look forward to the fashion montage scene every time I watch. She learns that wearing clothes is way more than just putting on pretty clothes & it takes a lot of work to create fashion. I can relate.
Clueless
Clueless is one of the most iconic movies of the '90s & for good reason. Cher is one of the greatest film fashion icons of all time & few have even come close to her. She wears preppy clothes one would expect from a valley girl, but she takes fashion to a new level with prominent colors & daring patterns. All of the plaid, the sweater vests, the oxford shirts, & over-the-knee socks are all pulled off seamlessly & still it holds up today.
Halston
The Halston series was such a pleasant surprise. The story is about a fashion designer who creates a worldwide fashion empire, but it's his dedication to detail that pushes him to great heights. It gets into some heavy subject matter as Halston faces the trials of life, but his love of the fashion world is never questioned. His style was clean and classic, and his evening wraps offer a timeless, form-fitting silhouette. Halston proves that fashion is pain.
Cruella
Disney's live-action remakes of its movies can get truly exhausting, but that's really not the case with Cruella. Not only did the movie have a bold take on Cruella's origin, but the fashion moments delivered every single time. It's set in London in the 1970s where punk rock reigns supreme & it sets the perfect atmosphere. Estella Miller is an aspiring fashion designer who's trying to break through into the fashion industry by any means necessary. She pushes the envelope with daring looks & punk rock aesthetics with so much attitude that it's impossible to deny.
