Happy New Year from the Dream Crochet!
I’m feeling very reflective now that it’s the New Year. 2024 was a great & trying year- where I ventured into a lot of new things and I even impressed myself. Sometimes, it doesn’t feel all that major in the moment, but when I look back I can see the growth that happens over time. I’m always trying to improve myself and my work and I can say that I’ve done that and plan to continue to grow in 2025.
Making the Everything I Made in 2024 videos made me realize how many favorite projects I have. The red rose skirt (which was a lot of work!) the granny square coat, and crochet bow jeans are just some of them. I pushed myself with my upcycle/rework designs this year and made bold choices that I adjusted to my style. It’s a reminder of how artistic this process is and to never underestimate yourself and what you can do.
Some of my favorite projects this year have been my granny square fans, the Dream Duos designs, crochet bow purses, and of course all the crochet clothes. I experimented with color in a way I never have before, pushing myself outside of my comfort zone to free myself from more obvious seasonal choices, and that made my work all the more exciting.
The various collections and special projects this year were very strong as well. Seasonal collections, Halloween-inspired clothes, Gilmore Girls and Wicked projects, the Met Gala, and more. I had so much fun putting together clothes that involve a theme and I won’t be slowing down in 2025. I already have a few fun ideas cooking and I can’t wait to reveal them when the time is right.
