Top 5 Dream Duos Sets

I love mixing and matching my clothes, but I love matching sets just as much. When I upcycle material for the Dream Duos, I’m oftentimes inspired to create matching tops and bottoms sets (and sometimes even accessories). It’s the cohesiveness that I find most enjoyable. With pieces that fit together, you don’t have to worry about something matching or not, the handmade work is already done for you!

I upcycled a flannel button-down because I love the colors so much. The aqua, brown, and black made for an interesting blend and I thought it would look nice as a Dream Duos. I cut the shirt in half and crocheted the trim using brown yarn, then with the leftover material, I used an elastic waistband and turned it into a skirt. More crochet was added for extra length and I’m trulysatisfied with the results! I don’t use brown very much so this is a real nice transition into the Fall times.

This Dream Duos set was born out of convenience. I had a pair of shorts that were too long, so I reworked them to create a matching top with the leftover sections. This olive green spoke to me and I decided to go with tonal colors and I crocheted the straps for the top. There’s something very laid back about the colors and yet still very eye-catching. It really stands out amongst the rest.

My vibe will always be vintage and that's what this Dream Duos set exudes. I took a pair of jeans and created crocheted panels in the front and the back, which turned into a maxi skirt, and added crocheted sleeves to this vintage tee. I feel like I'm in a whole different era when I wear these clothes.

This pattern was so divine, I just had to make it into a Dream Duos. I upcycled a set of placemats with a floral pattern on them and made a vest and a matching skirt. I used dark blue yarn for the trim for a nice contrast and there was a lot of measuring and cutting involved. The snap buttons were very useful and I used the extra yarn to make a crop top to bring it all together.

I love getting to work with patchwork and this Dream Duos set is so stylish. I used denim fabric, but I didn't have very much left so I had to be resourceful. I cut the fabric in half, then crocheted squares of the same size and attached them together. I made an elastic waistband skirt, a bandeau top, and a crochet hook bag to match. I have to say, this is probably the most stylish on this list.
