Granny Square Day 2024 & My Favorite Summer Designs
I look forward to Granny Square Day every year and this one felt special. I did a compilation video last year that I had so much fun making and I really wanted to top myself. I pulled some of my favorite granny square designs for the part 2 video and planned out how I would do each transition so that it would flow nicely. I’m happy with how it all turned out and especially the creative opportunity to express my love for these designs.
Getting to showcase so many clothes &accessories was even more exciting than I remember it. I featured tops and bottoms and my new crochet fan designs. I was surprised to find that I still have so many other granny square designs that I’ve yet to show and more ideas to come. I suppose I’ll have more material for next year’s Granny Square Day as well.
This granny square set was a super fun remake. I upcycled this old pair of jeans and made a Dream Dream Duos design with two granny squares on the lower. The top is a matching granny square tank top consisting of four granny squares and a thin strap. These two pieces are strong on their own, but even stronger when they’re together.
The Terra Crochet Vest stands out so much because it's not a design I normally do and using granny squares for it makes it even better. The garment is a crochet wrap and I added chain straps to the front panels and there's a granny square baseball cap DIY to match.
This is another granny square set that I truly adore. The sleeveless crop top has one main granny square as the focus and I reworked a pair of paints and crocheted granny square panels on the front and sides and crocheted on the hem too. The pop of color is truly exciting expression of all that is handmade!
