Introducing The Dream Crochet

There’s been so much happening that I thought it would be the perfect time to reintroduce myself. I’ve added so many new aspects to The Dream Crochet, and people are coming along for the ride, so I wanted to reveal more about this new direction I’m heading into. Evolving the way I do things has become a top priority of mine as I want everything I do to get bigger and better, and I made a video on Instagram to express myself, my love of crochet, &my goals for the future.

When I first started crocheting, it was a fun hobby to pass the time, but the more I did it the more it started to take over my whole life in the best way possible. I started with scarves and hats and eventually moved on to clothes. I’d pull from my wardrobe and attempt to recreate the looks, which didn’t always turn out perfect, but it was a learning experience. I kept trying and learned more about the craft, and grew brave enough to post my creations online, and over time it became known as The Dream Crochet.

Crochet has become more than just about making clothes, it’s enhanced my life in many areas. It gives me focus, joy, and understanding. There are many lessons to be learned and one of my biggest dreams is for others to find what inspires them. I think of crochet as an art and the best kind of art moves people. It’s where your imagination can be unleashed. I concentrate so much on color, patterns, and techniques because I want my love for this to be in every stitch.

I have many interests outside of crochet. I love making art using pen and ink and photography is a long-time passion of mine. Something about capturing life makes me appreciate it all the more. I watch movies and TV shows all the time, some of my favorites are Titanic, Lord of the Rings, Willow, Black Sails, Breaking Bad, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. As far as books go, fantasy is at the top of my list. Fire and Blood and The Hobbit are stories that are very special to me.

I’ve added some new things to The Dream Crochet that have really energized my process. Over the Summer, I made a newsletter that provides updates, crochet tips, inspirational quotes, exclusive offers, sneak peeks, polls, and more. I’ve also been working on transition videos that test my creativity and video editing skills to entertain and inform people.

I’ve titled my upcycle projects Dream Duos & they include denim, clothes, and fabrics, and it’s been so much fun to do. Coming up with all these new designs and merging crochet with fashion has created some original work that reinvigorates me. It’s also helped to promote sustainable fashion as I’ve used leftover scraps to make more clothes and accessories. I’m also working hard on the upcoming Fall collection and I hope that it’s the best one yet.

Although so much has changed with The Dream Crochet over the years, it’s really only just getting started. I’ve got so many more ideas I can’t wait to reveal!
